If it can be viewed only at a certain time (the videos follow a schedule), then it is a live stream. If it can be accessed at any time of your choosing, then it’s video on demand.

Note that you should have a broadband Internet connection when viewing streaming TV. It really makes no sense to try this on a dial up connection since you may be waiting around for hours while it buffers up. Your computer should be reasonably up-to-date. You should have downloaded the most recent versions of “Macromedia Flash” and “Windows Media Player”. Another good free player is “Real Player”. Be sure to disable your pop-up blocker.

There are many more media players available than the two above. More often than not, you will be prompted to download a required player if you don’t have it. Be safe, don’t immediately download the player. Instead, record the name of the player and do some research on Google. You want to find out if the media player is a well known product. If it is, then go to the product’s main web site and download it from there. Right click the download link and do a “save as” to your hard disk.

Top 100 Foreign Films

All top foreign movies lists are inevitably subjective by definition, but most of them do give you a sense of the best foreign films that have been appreciated across the globe. To pick up your favorite Foreign Films, all you need to do is consult a few of these foreign movie lists and watch the films. If you do, I bet your idea of what’s best will get blurred – simply because there are just so many of just “good” foreign films !! I won’t be surprised if you become a collector of them, just as me.

Watching films is a very personal experience for me because I just don’t watch movies, I spend hours thinking about every detail of a scene that moved me. And I honestly think that many of the greatest films, the very best movies in cinematic history – actually originated outside Hollywood. Thoughts and debates welcome, but I learned to appreciate that language in our regular sense is a pretty imperfect medium of communication. I had earlier written an entry on it, and here I come back again with many more foreign movies that I have watched since then and the saga continues. There are movies with no real plot, really – but they will keep you stuck to your seat the whole time just because every word, posture, thought is so detailed! I find it immensely gratifying when someone tells me they enjoyed a scene that I had also enjoyed for the same reason – its an amazing way to connect to people.
